WEEK 8, BUT FIRST.....

RANGERS NOT OUT
The Rangers have won 2 post season series, one by getting up early, one by getting a little down early and will win this one by digging a hole early.  The Rangers have been overwhelmed and they were in game 1 against New York.  I still have faith.

WEEK 7...BUT FIRST....

RANGERS
I said nothing would surprise me about the game on Wednesday and I will say the same for tonight.  That said I believe Warsh (Ron Washington) knows what he is doing.  He wants Cliff Lee for games 1-4-7 in the World Series, but wants him available for ALCS game 7 to get there if necessary.  CC Sabathia is a good pitcher and showed it in Game 5.  I think the Rangers bats will avoid another do or die today.
COWBOYS
As you will see, little confidence in the Cowboys pick to win.  It depends, as usual on Jason Garrett.  He has to rely on the running game to avoid costly penalties against the Giants pass rush.  This is a do or die game.

WEEK 6...UGGGH, BUT FIRST......

PREGAME RANGERS LOVE
I never expected it to be easy against the Yankees, and even with a 3-1 series lead it isn't.  Except for the billpen in game 1 and parts of last night's game (small parts) the bullpen has come through.  The Rangers are just pitching better than the Yankees.  Also, the Yankees run the bases scared.  A Rangers hallmark all year long has been to make the defense make plays throwing the ball, especially to home. Twice, at least, in this series the Yankees have  had opportunities to send runners from 3rd and they held them.  The Rangers have consistently challenged the Yankees arms.
I would not be surprised at the outcome of today's game, either way, because CC Sabathia is a great pitcher.  I will say the Yankees are in deep trouble.  Had the Yankees lost game 1, this would be a vastly different series.  But not the foregone conclusion of sweep the ESPN pundits are saying.  It showed the Rangers you can't let a champion up and is why they have poured it on late in the last 2 games.
That said, I think it ends today.

WEEK 5 PICKS....BUT FIRST

I had great confidence in the Rangers going into the post season, but I never expected this.  This is about the first time since acquiring Cliff Lee that the Rangers have had all their top players available.  Oh, I forgot, David Murphy is ailing a little.  That they are doing this without Murphy is not all that surprising.  It just means it could be worse for the Rays.  I'm surprised to say it, but this series should be a sweep.

WEEK 3 DART BOARD RESULTS

Yes, I might as well be throwing darts, blind folded.  These results are not acceptable.  Who do I blame?  Peyton Manning, the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears opponents, Steve Fisher, etc.  The league is really up in the air this year, which is good for the league.  Even though ESPN loves a few runaway teams,  this type of year is better for the fans, league-wide. More fans will stay engaged with their team longer.  I will not yet abandon my preseason picks, yet.  They are my story and I'm sticking to 'em!

Week 4 Picks

Bye weeks are starting so 14 is max points.
We are starting to see some things shake out in the NFL.  The Giants and Redskins are awful, but will amazingly be able to try against divisional opponents.  The Bengals will finish 3rd in their division, behind Pittsburgh.  Teams that stink:  Arizona, Detroit (still), Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, San Francisco,  The AFC West.
