I never expected it to be easy against the Yankees, and even with a 3-1 series lead it isn't. Except for the billpen in game 1 and parts of last night's game (small parts) the bullpen has come through. The Rangers are just pitching better than the Yankees. Also, the Yankees run the bases scared. A Rangers hallmark all year long has been to make the defense make plays throwing the ball, especially to home. Twice, at least, in this series the Yankees have had opportunities to send runners from 3rd and they held them. The Rangers have consistently challenged the Yankees arms.
I would not be surprised at the outcome of today's game, either way, because CC Sabathia is a great pitcher. I will say the Yankees are in deep trouble. Had the Yankees lost game 1, this would be a vastly different series. But not the foregone conclusion of sweep the ESPN pundits are saying. It showed the Rangers you can't let a champion up and is why they have poured it on late in the last 2 games.
That said, I think it ends today.
